The Great Balancing Act: Managing Pregnancy and Motherhood Gracefully

Recently, my three-year old finally clued in that we were going to have another baby. He jumped up, turned to his older brothers (who’ve understood this news for months), and exclaimed, “Guys! There’s a baby in Mama’s tummy!” The thrill on his face was just priceless. While it is a joyful time for a family expecting a new little one, the gestation period can be exhausting for the mother. It’s a great balancing act to manage pregnancy symptoms while caring for the family and attending to household and work responsibilities.

This article offers suggestions to help moms balance the added challenges that arise during a second or subsequent pregnancy. From stocking the kitchen to date nights with the hubby, I’ve covered the bases for what a mom needs to know not just to survive pregnancy, but to thrive during it. One time rights are available. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! Inspiration for a Great Moms’ Night Out

It probably wasn’t too long ago that today’s moms were driving down the road listening to Cyndi Lauper belt out the lyrics, “When the working day is done, Oh, girls, They wanna have fu-un.” Time has, nonetheless, marched on since then. The side ponytails have been replaced with classic bobs, and those fingerless lace gloves went the way of a garage sale many moons ago. But, some things don’t change. After a day of diapers, carpools, and homework, an evening of fun is a welcome treat to many mothers.

This article elaborates on how a fun night out with the girls can be as simple as grabbing dinner and a movie together or as elaborate as a slumber party weekend. At just over 1300 words, this piece can easily be localized as it features activities such as scrapbooking, ceramic painting, preparing mosaics, dining out, and visiting a meal-prep kitchen. One-time rights are available.

Snakes, Snails, and Little Boy Tales: Unique Joys in Raising Sons

What is an alpha mom, anyway?

It’s true that the mom on Leave it to Beaver didn’t have a Blackberry, but she was definitely cutting edge for her time. Find out about another kind of cutting edge mom in my article, “What is an Alpha Mom, Anyway?” At about 560 words, it presents some definition to the new demographic of moms as well as an encouragement to all kinds of mothers.

(Please note that I didn’t touch on the Alpha Mom network in writing this article. They have registered the name as their brand, so I purposely used lower case in defining “alpha mom.” It is such a hazy term and new in the modern lexicon, that to discuss the network made defining the alpha mom more confusing to the reader than it needed to be.)
